Champagne Tourney
Theme: ProofGame with diagonal-orthogonal
correspondence between 2 elements of the solution(s).
Judge: Michel CAILLAUD
I received more than 20 entries, again a
success for this tourney. I gave importance to the clarity and intensity of the
echo. Some good problems were not included because the idea was too diluted
among other (sometimes excellent) elements.

2 promoted
pieces, a Bishop and a Rook, perform a ”square” circuit. En passant, the
Donati-50 theme, with only the necessary white moves.

The thematic elements are the Zepler-Turton manoeuvres
with wKa1 and wTb1 on orthogonal line and wPe6 and bLf5 on diagonal line. But
other elements of the rich solution
(Ceriani-Frolkin,...) make the theme appear not so clear as in the prized
problems.

Almost all the moves are thematical in this elementary
