45th World Congress of Chess
Composition Portoroz, August 31st - September 7th, 2002 |
INVITATION
A Committee for Chess Composition of Chess Federation of Slovenia invites delegates of the Permanent Commission for Chess Composition (PCCC-FIDE), national teams and individual solvers of the 26th World Chess Solving Championship (WCSC), and all those interested in problem-chess, to attend the 45th World Congress of Chess Composition (WCCC), which will be held in Portoroz, Slovenia, from Saturday 31st of August to 7th of September, 2002 in the Resort & Conference Center Bernardin.
Bernardin lies at the Adriatic coast halfway between the modern seaside resort of Portoroz and medieval town of Piran (within walking distance to both of them). The first world congress of chess composition took place in 1958 in Piran.
Accommodation
The hotel complex is named after the 15th century monastery church, the bell tower of which still stands at the centre of Bernardin. Guests have a choice of accommodations and prices depending on whether they decide to stay in the Grand Hotel Emona with the convention centre, in the Hotel Histrion with the Laguna Bernardin water park, or in the Hotel Vile Park. The hotel complex offers a total of 767 rooms.

Standard rooms in Hotel Vile Park are not available any more (after 1st July)!
These prices stay the same one week before and after the congress for the congress participants only.

Children up to 3 years old free (5 EUR for childbed).
All rooms in Grand Hotel Emona have seaside view, balcony, air-condition, TV SAT, telephone and mini-bar. Majority of rooms in Grand Hotel Emona are renovated. These rooms are called "Superior rooms". A limited number of not yet renovated rooms are marked as "Standard rooms".
All rooms in Hotel Histrion are renovated and have balcony, TV SAT, telephone and mini-bar. Half of them have seaside view, the other half marina view. One floor renovated this year is equipped with air-condition.
Majority of rooms in Hotel Vile Park are renovated and have TV SAT and telephone. These rooms are called "Superior rooms". A very limited number of not yet renovated rooms are marked as "Standard rooms".
Prices include breakfast, dinner, excursion, banquet, free access to water park and all hotel facilities as well as all regular congress activities (attendance at the PCCC sessions, competing in solving and composing tournaments, final bulletin, etc). All payments should be made at the hotel receptions in cash or by any of mayor credit cards. Organisers office will operate in Grand Hotel Emona where all materials will be distributed to participants.
During the week all usual activities will be organised (open solving tournament, quick composing tourney, solving show, mini-lectures, etc).
