Backcountry skiing

I spend the most of my free time in the mountains. Off-piste skiing and ski mountaineering have been my love since my teenage years. Regular skiing on the "sunny side of the Alps" then streamed my interest to skiing down steeper and steeper mountain slopes and faces. Based on rich practical experience, I joined forces with my friend and ski mountaineering companion Andrej Terčelj, to write and publish a handbook "Skrivnosti nedotaknjenih strmin" (something like The Secrets of Untouched Slopes) with 101 tips for off-piste skiing. It took a few years work, but finally reached the shelves in November 1997 and got very good remarks by experts.

Paragliding

In 1988 I got drugged by a new activity in the mountains - paragliding. In the early days this sport was closer to mountaineering than it is today, when one can gain altitudes above our 2000m peaks by any modern paraglider, concerning the needed experience and thermals. Today I remain a member of the minority, who sometimes still enjoy flying off our higher peaks in the calm Autumn atmosphere, after a few hours climb to the summit.

I will add some interesting info & links as soon as possible. Until then, experienced mountaineers may find it interesting to peek into the list of Alpine 4000m peaks and get some ideas for new adventures.
