Getting Started: Connections

If the Connect to Remote Host dialog is not already open on top of the WS_FTP Pro window, click the Connect button to open it.
  1. On the Connect to Remote Host dialog, click the Create Site button. The Site Profile wizard appears.
  2. In the Name box, enter what you want to call your new site.
  3. In the Create In box, click the Browse ... box and select the folder you want to create your site in. If you want it in the top directory, select the Sites folder.
  4. Click the Next > button.
  5. In the Host Name or IP Address box, enter the address for the FTP site.
    For example: ftp.ipswitch.com
  6. Click the Next > button.
  7. In the User ID box, enter your username.
    This is the name assigned to you when you create your FTP account.
  8. In the Password box, enter the password for your FTP account.
    This password is also supplied when you create your FTP account.
  9. Select the Save Password option.
  10. Click Finish.
