The school network in Slovenia

Abstract

The author, after defining the concept of the school network, describes the development of primary schools from 1780 in the territory now known as Slovenia and compares this data with that of subsequent periods. He makes a further comparison of special needs schools and music schools during specific periods. A short historical overview of secondary school development from 1553 onwards is given, followed by comparisons of subsequent periods. In recognition of the fact that 1999 marked the 80^th anniversary of the University of Ljubljana, higher education is described in more detail.
