The former town hall at Glavni trg 24, where the tourist office is located, contains two important museums. The Koroška Regional Museum (and Gallery of Fine Arts Koroška op.p.)..
..The Gallery of Fine Arts on the 1st floor is open from 9 am to 6 Tuesday to Sunday (but closed from noon to 3 pm Saturday and Sunday); admission is 300 SIT. It has rotating exhibits but counts among its permanent collection African folk art, bronze sculptures by Franc Berneker (1874-1932) and naive paintings by Jože Tisnikar (1928-1998). Tisnikar is among the most interesting and original artist in Slovenia, and his obsession with corpes, distorted figures and oversized insects (perhaps inspired by that locust attack in the late 15th century) is at once disturbing and funny. Don't miss Rojstva in Smrt (Birth and Death) and Stopala (Feet). The Paintings are all very black and blue.
The interesting scuplture in the courtyard is of the French poet Guillaume Apollinare done by Ossip Zadkine in 1946. Outside the town hall is the odd, life-size Venetian Horse by contemporary sculptur Oscar Kogoj. It has become something of a symbol for the town.
