ABOUT DARWA

Darwa is actually a nickname for a girl with
a name Darja. Everything started with singing
and playing songs of Nirvana.
Her enthusiasm for grunge and Soundgarden
followed. For quite a while she sang and played
a guitar in several bands. Meanwhile her teacher
Edi taught her the notes and how to master the
guitar. All this time she felt that the right people
were not there for her to compose the songs.
Thus, she started composing herself, exploring
her voice and the guitar. She was fortunate to
meet Mario, the producer and saxophone player
of the Miladojka Youneed. They started recording
in the studio. Soon Dejan joined. They were both
great support in expressing her ideas as well as
in contributing a few of their own. Their skills
in managing strange instruments and the sound
that was created in the studio was extremely
valuable. Recently Darwa was inspired by groups
like En Vogue, Massive attack, Tricky, The
chemical brothers, Morcheeba and singers like
Lauryn Hill, Erikah Badu, Madonna, ...
