![]() Carnalbanagh is a thriving
rural community situated on the Antrim Plateau in Northern Ireland. It
is at the head of Glenarm, the first of the famous 'Green Glens
of Antrim. It is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and
Special Scientific Interest, so building development is strictly
controlled. Also nearby is Slemish mountain, where St Patrick tended
animals.
The scenery varies from unspoilt heather moorland to a patchwork of lush green fields bounded by natural stone walls. Most people in the area travel to work in the towns of Ballymena and Larne. Many are also involved in part time farming, keeping sheep and cattle. More about this area: www.causewaycoastandglens.com |
