FAREWELL FROM OUR PUPILS - 8th CLASS
It seems like a moment this eight years! Little girls and boys grew up in to big girls and boys. They are going bravely towards their new school life in secondary school, self-confident and full of new expectations.

Here they are. Holidays of course. Ledina pupils prepare them a warm
welcome every year. The
main slogan of this year’s event was The more
languages you speak, the greater your worth.
Ledina pupils like to travel all over the world. Thus,
we demonstrated our knowledge of German, Latin, Spanish and
French. A genuine Ledina pupil must be resourceful everywhere.
The peak of the event was the play Deeply in the Dreams of Literature (in
Slo: Globoko v knjižnih sanjah) by our teacher Karla
Leban and performed by the pupils of 3B. She took us into the
world of Pippi Longstocking, Mojca Pokraculja, Indians and
many other fairytale characters.
An outstanding
performance, a simultaneous interweaving of spoken word,
instruments, singing and a rich set are besides excellent
actors the central elements that gave a special character to
this drama piece and raised it to a high artistic level.
We paid special attention to two talented singers,
Katka and Kaja, who hypnotised each and everyone.
I believe this is enough for the time being. Now it is time
for the sun, sea, idleness and summer loves – the things
that a genuine Ledina pupil has to experience to return back
to the sources of learning, full of strength. |

Education
of the Youth in the Future
Djakarta, Indonesia
|
| We – Natalia
Halič (teacher at Ledina Primary School) and a former
pupil Žiga Vavpotič (now a second year pupil at Bežigrad
Secondary School) – attended a congress of the youth in
Djakarta (24th–30th June 2001). The congress which was
supported by such important organizations as UNESCO, Unicef
and government organizations in Indonesia was organized for
pupils, students and young teachers from all over the world.
The topic of the congress was Education of the Youth in the
Future. At our school we strive for the world of peace,
tolerance and respect. The teachers feel our work is important
and responsible, so we want to help to cocreate the world in
which many generations of Slovenes would develop and live
happily. That is why I consider it important that Žiga and I
were able to attend this congress. The congress in Djakarta
was a unique and unrepeatable event, a proof that the teachers
and especially the young generations do care about the
education of the youth in the future.
Our message
from Djakarta is the following:
‘We have done our duty exceedingly well. The
company is great and varied, we are gathering experience,
making plans for new projects and have a great time among our
friends. See you in Peking!’
