The
200th Birth Anniversary of the Greatest Slovene Poet
The year
2000 was called the Year of Prešeren, since it was the 200th
anniversary of the birth of the greatest Slovene poet on 3rd
December. France Prešeren proved through his love for his own
nation that the Slovene language has an enormous power of
expression in poetry as well and can thus compete with other
European languages.

YOUTH COMES TOGETHER FOR THE YEAR, CENTURY, MILLENIUM OF CULTURE OF PEACE
MEETING OF SLOVENIAN ASP-net UNESCO SCHOOLS

Jože Plečnik Secondary School, Secondary School of Construction, Geodesy and Economics.

Once again the pupils of Slovene primary and secondary schools and their
teachers included in the world web of ASP-net Unesco Schools
gathered at Šiška Cinema on 11th December. It was no
coincidence that 10th December, the day of human rights, was
chosen for the already traditional meeting.
The activities which are organized and attended by Unesco Schools try to
realize our effort for the basic human right –
life in peace. |
