Festival of Peace in Slovenj Gradec
"WE ALL ARE THE WORLD" |
In the town Slovenj Gradec, the Messsenger of Peace of UNO, there was a meeting of the representatives of UNESCO ASPNet schools from 21st October to 23rd October. The gathering took place at the primary school Prva osnovna šola Slovenj Gradec, our yearly host. The first day was dedicated to the presentation of individual schools together with a short cultural programme. Afterwards, we took part in various workshops (Let's Get to Know UNESCO, School Website, Statuary Workshop, Painting Workshop, Musical Workshop, Preservation of Cultural Heritage - Scarecrow, Let's Build Our Town, Writing, Castle - Secret Tunnel - Treasure, etc.) On 23rd October, the day of the United Nations Organization, we first took a look at the final event of the Competition for Children' Art and Literature Works at the gallery of fine arts in Slovenj Gradec and then participated in the final event of the Festival of Peace, which took place in the old part of the town. This year's main slogan of the festival was
"WE ALL ARE THE WORLD".
The festival in Slovenj Gradec was attended by two pupils of class 7.b, Alma Ignjatović-Begić and Nina Novak, and their mentor, the school librarian Katarina Podobnik.
