Good news from Valladolid

 

This year I went to the Asprona March. This is a yearly event in which you participate walking for 50 kms to raise money for disabled people. You ask people to sponsor you and they give an agreed upon amount of money for every km you walk. This year it was only 25 kms Because it was the 25th anniversay of the organisation that organises the event. Many people participate every year. During the walking we talk and have a good time. This year, at lunchtime, we stopped at a forest and we had lunch there. Then we arrived at Vallsur, a commercial centre, and we had a party. It was great fun!!!!!


"El Quijote" is the best book in the world. His author, Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, stayed in Valladolid for one year (1604-1605) He was a very famous writer. You can visit his house in our city, it is like a museum.


School is finishing and the summer is here: holidays, hot, beach, and no homework!!!! But still we will lack the worst: the exams!!!


We are going on an excursion. This is the first "big" excursion this year. We are going to see a museum and a monastery, and finally we are going to visit Burgos (a city near Valladolid).


The week before Easter (the Holy Week) is very famous in Valladolid and one of the best in the world. There are many processions and you can see beautiful religious sculptures done by very famous sculptors from the 17th and 18th centuries.


I like meeting with my friends, that's good news. We go to the disco or to the cinema, to buy clothes... We go to the centre of the city. It has got places for dinner, lunch or breakfast. When it is somebody's birthday we go some place to eat something and then to the disco to celebrate. In the summer if you want to do sport we can go to the swimming pool, to play tennis, football,,, In my city we haven't got a beach but you can go to Santander, Valencia, Murcia and other places around Spain. There are many beautiful places in Spain. In the south the temperature is hotter than in the north.


Valladolid is a big city and there are many cars, that's why the air is not clean, and pollution is a problem, But we have a big green park in the centre of the city where you can go and find cleaner air, it's called CAMPO GRANDE ("big field").
