Have you read the book of Sandi Sitar, Brothers Rusjan, barrels and aircrafts?
Then you know that brothers Edvard and Jože Rusjan are Slovenian flight pioneers.Edvard Rusjan had his first successful flight with an aircraft (his own production) in the year 1909 on a field near Gorica. At that time in Habsburg monarchy.
Two-winged aircraft was named Eda I. and had its first flight about 2 meters high and for 60 meters in distance. On its second attempt Eda I. flew about 12 meters high and for 500 meters. The third attempt was a dissaster: Edvard had crashed his Eda I. into a carriage and both were completely destroyed.
Although their workshop was poorly equipped and their founds were limited, they managed to produce 7 aircraft in 1,5 years. They were all named Eda, each got the serial number. Becouse of the weak engine all Eda's could not fly succesfully …
But Eda V. did fly and it is flying today too.
Don't you belive? We are inviting you to join us on the trail of Eda V.
