Preservation of culture

Dear friends, we would like you to present our friends which we found on the other side of the world. Friendship has no limits, the distance or language cant be one of them. We will take you to Brazil to meet the Indian tribe named Fulni-o.

s .

Yaathé language

TheYaathé is a language of an Red Indian tribe named Fulni-o. This language is slowly dissapearing because the Indians mostly speak portuguese, the language that is spoken in Brasil. In Aguas Belas the Indians continue to speak in their language to preserve it from disapearing. Actually 4000 people speak this language. We are making with our Indian correspondents, a small Yaathe/French dictionary to learn some words from their language and to make them learn a little bit of French.

THE VILLAGE OF AGUAS BELAS

Aguas Belas means Beautiful Water in Portuguese. This is the community of Indians from Fulni-o tribe. They live in the reservation where the acces to white people is limited. The children go to post school where they learn Portuguese (the official language in Brasil). They learn how to use computers, they are using them to correspond with us.
