INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROJECT

Due to various reasons, more and more students from neighbouring and other countries migrate to Slovenia every school year. To facilitate their integration into the Slovenian society and to enable them to be successful in their education, they need to become fluent in Slovenian language. As we live in the coastal region where there is a vast Italian ethnic minority, we all have to learn Italian as our second language and we all learn English as a foreign langage. This means that immmigrants, who come to live in Slovenia, have to learn three new languages. To make them feel welcome, to make their life in our country easier, to facilitate their learning process and to help them acquire the three langgages more successfully, we have decided to do something more. The teachers as well as students from ur school have created for them ICT based materials which they can use at their own free will and at their own pace and thus enable them to learn the three new languages much faster and in a much friendlier way. For that purpose, they can use the ICT technology available at our school and the interactive material with exercises created especially for them. The material in this project is mainly designed to motivate students from other countries to learn the two languages spoken in the area, together with English as a foreign language, and to facilitate the communication in the new country. The results speak for themselves. The exercises in the project are updated on regular basis according to the students' needs. |
