There were some poets born in Soča walley and aroudn it. The most famous of all is Simon Gregorčič and his poem ˝Soči˝.
| Simon Gregorčič (1844-1906). He was a Slovenian poet and priest. His first job was in Kobarid. After moving to Rihenberk, he wrote his most beautiful poems there: Ujetega ptiča tožba, Človeka nikar, Soči. He published his work in collection “Poezije” in 1882. Some of his poems became nationalised. He is burried on the hill near the church of Saint Lovrenc. His statue is in Kobarid. |
