Gabrovka- Dole Elementary school

The beginnings of the elementary school in Gabrovka go to early 1820`s. During World War 2 in October 1943 the school was burned down. In 1978 there was built a new extension to the old school, which included, in addition to classrooms and private offices, a gym and a multipurpose room for school events. In 2004 they started to build an extension to the school and alternate places. In the time of construction, the class was held in the health centre. The school changed some names, from 1952 the name was Holy Cross Elementary school close to Litija, from 1952 to 1962 it was called Elementary school Gabrovka, from 1962 to 1994 the name was Elementary school Lojze Hostnik- Jovo and then again Elementary school Gabrovka, from 1994 – 1998 and from 1998 forward  Gabrovka- Dole Elementary school. Within the school operates a kindergarten. In 1945/46 the school was visited by 307 students, in 1978/79 by 163, in 1999/2000 by 139, in 2005/06 by 140 and in 2010/11 by 120 students. Today the school is visited by 115 students. The school has 8 clean departments and 1 department in combination of the first and second class.  We are included in the program of healthy schools and we prove it with extra P.E. classes and healthy food. We had a few successful students.
