• strahu in nepripravljenosti na novo vojno,
• ker sta se brez ZDA počutili nemočni,
• ker sta se strinjali s Hitlerjevim bojem proti komunizmu in
• sta tudi sami bili delno prepričani o krivičnosti "versajske"ureditve Evrope.
