Answer for today:
ťEverything that war was bringing became commercial, because is the only herritage that could be sold out, for the sake of surviving.
The whole beauty of lost tradition is still yet and again, to be discovered...And this doesnt go only for Sarajevo but for the whole of Balkan.Ť

SELF-PORTRAIT IN AN ANT-HEAP


Self-portrait in an ant-heap, corporal installation, is inscribed in the continuity of Bleu Provisoire, manifesto- performance about immobility.

 

Yann Marussich is motionless, in a 2m x 1m x 0.5m vitrine, accommodating an ant-heap. On each longer side, three headphones are diffusing three different sound sources. On each shorter side of the window, two flat screens are showing close-ups of the ants and of the body of the artist, live recorded with four mini-cameras hidden in the ant-heap. Yann Marussich is motionless in the vitrine between three and five hours long.

“My installation is an ambiguous interplay of nailed to the walls photography, screenshots of tombs in horrorfilms, txtmontage and
private copy screenings. „I saw her. I saw her.“ is related to issues I have been dealing with for quite some time: female vampirism,
the fetish of the female body/corpse, visual situations of readership and – as a new element - pictorial fragments of the „medical
venus“ – an anatomical wax figure in the museum for the history of medicine in Vienna. things and settings that produce fusions, are
strangely intertwined, analytical and gothic at the same time.“ (Judith Fischer)

GREETINGS FROM TOKYO is an exhibition project, which is a collaboration of 14 art and design students from nine different countries ( Slovenia, Finland, Lithuania, Germany, Japan, Greece, Spain, Mexico, France) and is supported by University of Art and Design, Helsinki (UIAH). Teamwork is a key of this project, because our main goal was to produce exhibition as an entity, which looks as if it was done by one artist.
