PAPILU

is a family theatre founded in 1982, nowadays well-known even outside Europe. It is characterized by its timeless topicality, a wide spectrum of rich puppet associations reflecting vivacious wit, inventive fragility and the gentleness of puppets made of paper, which has for fifteen years stimulated the witty imagination of both authors.

Based on Lapland fairy-tales: EENY, MEENY, MINEY, MO "Eeny, meeny, miney, mo, erracle, terracle, tiny, toe" -- who does not know this children's song? However, the scenes, witty twists, connections and variations thought of by the Papilu puppet theatre will be heard and seen for the first time at the Festival. There is but little choice -- let Brane and Maja take you along, surrender yourselves to their rhythm, watch them and listen to them. Their gentle and aesthetic, framed and "plane" variations on a tiny children's motif seem endless -- as if the actual little paper body escaping from a strict frame were coming to life in front of our wondering eyes and entering straight into our imagination.
