Assist. prof. Attila Kovács, Ph.D., research fellow


 

The historian Attila Kovacs is a research fellow of the Institute for Ethnic Studies in Ljubljana, leader of the Institute’s research group based in Lendava and associated professor of University of Maribor. His main research field is the history of ethnic Hungarians in Slovenia and connected to it history of some other smaller Hungarian minority communities; agrarian reforms and colonisations in Central Europe in the 20th century and the ’56’s Hungarian refugee question. At the university he keeps lectures on history of Hungary. Leader of many Slovenian research projects and participates in many Slovenian and international research projects. Speaks Slovenian, Serbian, Croatian and Hungarian fluently and German fairly well.
