PRESENTATION
    EKOS Zasavje - Ecological group of Zasavje is a non-government, non-political and non-profit environmental organisation, registered as an ecologically oriented society. It´s goals are:
     
  • environmental education through our civilisation
  • protecting our environment and controlling ecological problems
  • promoting environment activities
  • international co-operation
    EKOS Zasavje was established in December 1991 with the purpose of expanding the environmental knowledge and organising different environmental projects for the population of Zasavje. The goal of EKOS Zasavje is not only protecting the environment, but also elevating the environmental awareness. Most of our members are very young, but in our organisation after they make first experiences with ecology, many active co-operate on this sphere and participate in ecological movement on other spheres. Because we are young, we represent future for many projects, and after time we plan a spread inside of the organisation. In EKOS Zasavje we recognise, that knowledge in present time is one of the most important value, so because of that fact our NGO organises ecological seminars 2-3 times a year for all secondary schools in Slovenia. The opinion of the participants, professors and representatives of NGO this seminars are from the best. Every next seminar we would like to improve and to built up.
CO-OPERATION
    EKOS Zasavje also works in the co-operation with NGOs, like EKOSOLA (ECO-SCHOOLS), DOVES, REC - Regional Environmental Center for Middle and Eastern Europe, SEG - Slovenian Environment Movement, UMANOTERA - Slovenian Foundation for Sustainable Development, MOST SCI Slovenia, GAJA, DPD Maribor, RETINA, RIDMC, LABECO, DREVO, PEC, NEC, VITRA, DVO Zagorje, GREENPEACE, WWF, Youth and Environment Europe,... We exchange our information through correspondence, telephone conversations, meetings, councils, and so on.
NGO AND VOLUNTARY WORK
    Our group EKOS Zasavje doesn´t make any profit because all the found is spent for the environment projects that are currently running. Voluntary work and modest donations do not allow us to satisfy all the needs and the program diversity of our environment activities. Because of that fact even the money for the basic management is scarce. In spite of that we do our best contribute to the world wide effort to keep the environment clean and healthy for all.
