SEAN CONNERY

Sean Connery
was born on 25th of August 1930 in Edinburgh, Scotland. When he was 15
he dropped out of school and joined the British Navy. Later he started
modeling and also participated in Scottish Mister Universe contest.
At first he
was doing odd jobs, such as coffin polisher. In 1951 he began working
in a theatre. His television career began with the remake of the
American tele-drama ‘Requiem for a Heavyweight’. His first
movie appearance was in 1954, in the movie entitled ‘Lilacs in
the Spring’. Although it was a small part, he soon starred in
movies in which he had a leading role. One of these roles was a role of
British secret agent – James Bond 007. He starred in several Bond
movies (Dr. No - 1962, From Russia With Love - 1963, Goldfinger - 1964,
Thunderball - 1965, You Only Live Twice - 1967, Diamonds Are Forever -
1971, Never Say Never Again - 1983).

He has won
many awards including an Oscar for the best actor in a supporting role
for the movie ‘The Untouchables’ in 1989.
His best
known roles are from movies The Name of the Rose (1986), Indiana Jones
and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Medicine
Man (1992), First Knight (1995), The Rock (1996), Entrapment (1999).
His latest appearance was in ‘The League of Extraordinary
Gentlemen’ in 2003.
Sean Connery
has been married twice. His first wife was actress Diane Cilento. Since
1975 he has been married to French artist Michelle Roquebrune. Now they
live in New York.
Although he
is 75 years old he can still make first class movies.
