COST is the acronyme (in French) for "European Cooperation in the
Field of Scientific and Technical Research".
It is a framework for international research and
development cooperation, allowing to coordinate national
research at European level. COST does not
fund research as such, but coordination of research.
COST includes as member states countries from the European
Union, and a number of other European countries.
Daquamap Data Quality MAP
DEM Digital Elevation Model. This is an interactive
program that comes in very handy for GIS
people and environmental scientists. USGS has made available on
the Internet, 1-degree Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data for the
entire United States. Determining exactly which DEM file covers the
region of your interest can sometimes be cumbersome.
