SERIES 3000 PlöSSl EYEPIECES (1.25")
.

Meade Series 3000 E/P

Unlike competing moderately priced Plössls, Meade Series 3000 Plössls are multi-coated for maximum light transmission and image contrast. Chrome plated brass barrels are threaded for standard filters. Upper eyepiece sections are of gleaming black anodized aluminium.

Use the PL5mm and 6.7mm oculars for high power observations of the Moon and planets, or for splitting close doubles. The PL9.5mm, an excellent moderately high magnification eyepiece, is useful for more extended objects, such as globular clusters, that require magnification to be well resolved. The medium power PL16mm yields, for example, a power of 125X and actual field of 0.40° in an 8" f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain an ideal combination for observing structural detail in the Orion Nebula (M42), the Andromeda Galaxy (M31), and other large objects. For general-purpose observing of the total range of astronomical objects, the PL25mm provides low power images high in contrast and sharp to the field edge. All Series 3000 Plössls also function well when used with a quality Barlow lens.

Manufactured to exclusive Meade optical designs by one of Japan's leading lens makers, Series 3000 Plössl eyepieces produce excellent results on telescopes of all types, from Schmidt-Cassegrains to reflectors and refractors.

Series 3000 Plössl 40mm (1.25"): A perfect complement to the Series 3000 Plössls above, this all new Plössl 40mm yields spectacular, low power, wide field results with any telescope. Manufactured to the classical Plössl 4 element design, the PL40mm produces, for example, a power of 50X and actual field of 0.88°, almost two Moon diameters, with an 8" f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain. The chrome plated brass barrel is threaded for filters.

SERIES 4000 EYEPIECES
.
Meade Series 4000 E/P
All Series 4000 eyepieces include a soft rubber eyeguard, custom fitted to each eyepiece with a bayonet mount. Unlike competing eyepieces all Series 4000 eyeguards fold down for eyeglass wearers--in fact the folded eyeguard shields eyeglasses from coming into contact with the metal eyepiece housings. Rubber grips are provided on all but the three shortest focal length Super Plössl eyepieces.

Super Plössls: Updated and redesigned to utilize the very latest in optical glass types, Meade 4-element Super Plössls are the finest general-purpose eyepieces available. For observing hairline lunar and planetary detail, splitting close doubles, or for deep-space, Meade Super Plössls optimize the performance of any telescope type, whether f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain, f/16 refractor, or f/4 reflector. They are perfect complements to the air-spaced design of the Meade #140 2x Apochromatic Barlow, opposite.

Super Wide Angles: These 6-element eyepieces, with their 67° fields, offer exquisite wide-angle images at low-to-medium powers, ideal for star fields, galaxies, and other deep-space phenomena. Focal lengths with 1.25" barrels yield extremely high-resolution, high-power lunar and planetary images when combined with the #140 2x Barlow.

Ultra Wide Angles: The ultimate in modern eyepieces, Meade 8-element Ultra Wide Angle eyepieces permit extreme image fidelity and sharpness over an amazing 84° apparent field. For moderate-to-high-power applications, no other eyepieces come close. A magnificent optical match with Maksutovs, Schmidt-Cassegrains, apochromatic refractors, and fast Newtonians.

#62 T-Adapter Basic Tele-Extender Variable-Projection Tele-Extender
#62 T-Adapter
Basic Tele-Extender
Variable-Projection Tele-Extender

For eyepiece-projection or prime focus photography through a Maksutov-Cassegrain or Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope.

#62 T-Adapter: The #62 T-Adapter is the basic means of prime focus photography, either terrestrial or astronomical, with all Meade LX-series mirror-lens telescope models; the #62 unit also attaches to other brands of Schmidt-Cassegrains as well. The T-Adapter threads onto the rear cell of the telescope, followed by a T-Mount for your particular brand of 35mm camera. (The T-Mount threads onto the universal threads of the T-Adapter on one side and has the bayonet-mount unique to your camera brand on the other side.) The T-Adapter is generally used in the following applications: lunar photography, short-exposure (less than 5 minutes) deep-space photography, and terrestrial photography.
Basic Tele-Extender: For eyepiece-projection photography with a Meade LX-series mirror-lens telescope or other brand of Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope, the Tele-Extender is required. In detailed lunar and planetary photography this method achieves the higher effective photographic magnifications often desirable. The Basic Tele-Extender, which is essentially an extension tube, attaches to the outer-diameter threads of the eyepiece-holder of the telescope, into which is inserted an eyepiece, typically of about 15mm to 32mm focal length. A T-Mount, ordered separately, for your 35mm camera brand then connects your camera body to the Tele-Extender.
Variable-Projection Tele-Extender: The Meade Variable-Projection Tele-Extender allows for a continuous range of projection magnifications during eyepiece-projection photography; the additional projection range is of particular value in high-resolution planetary photography. The machined sliding-cell assembly can be fixed at any position along its length and is held in position with 2 thumbscrews. Attachment of the unit to the telescope is identical to that of the Basic Tele-Extender, above.

#62 T-Adaptor (T-Mounts £10) £ 29.00
Basic Tele-Extender £ 29.00
Variable Tele-Extender £ 39.00
f/6.3 Focal Reduce / Field Flattener
An important advancement in high-resolution focal reduction systems, the Meade 4-element, multi-coated f/6.3 Focal Reducer (arrow) threads on to the rear cell of any Meade LX-series mirror-lens telescope or to other Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope brands (followed by the #777 Off-Axis Guider, shown, or T-Adapter) and reduces the telescope's focal ratio by a factor of 0.63: f/10 telescopes are converted to f/6.3; f/6.3 telescopes are converted to f/4. Simultaneously, the 41mm-diameter lens system helps to flatten the field, significantly improving edge-of-field corrections. The f/6.3 Focal Reducer enables a reduction of photographic exposure times by about 50%, while producing an actual field diameter of 1.5" at the film plane
£ 139.00
Off-Axis Guider
Off-Axis Guider: No telescope, however well-made, can track an astronomical object for an extended period of time without requiring small position corrections. During long-exposure astrophotography, therefore, it is essential that the photographer (a) be able to observe when the telescope starts to wander slightly off-target, and (b) be able to make small corrections to the telescope's position to bring the instrument back precisely on-target. The Meade #777 Off-Axis Guider solves the first of these requirements; namely, it permits the observer to monitor an exposure simultaneously as the photograph is being taken. (Drive correctors solve the second requirement.)

Off-Axis Ultra Guider £ 149.00
Piggyback Bracket for 7" LX50/LX200 & all 8" SCT's £ 29.00
