Born in 1988 in Slovenia, Danijel Brecelj studies the piano at the High school of Music of Ljubljana with prof. Siavush Gadjiev. Since 2006 he studies at the Conservatoire national superieur de musique de Paris with prof. R. Muraro, where he obtains his Master degree in 2011. He continues to study piano with prof. Rolf Plage at Mozarteum in Salzburg. In 2012 he was admitted to the Academy Incontri col maestro in Imola, in class of prof. Leonid Margarius. He takes part in several masterclasses of J. Rouvier, P.L.Aimard, Leonid Margarius, H.K. Kammerling and others.

He played with the Orchestra of Slovenian Philharmony, the Orchestra of Radio and Television of Slovenia, and the orchestra of Groningen University. The pianist gives concerts in his home country, France and Italy. He often plays his own works. At age of 16, he debuted with his 1. Concerto for piano with the orchestra of High school of music in Ljubljana. He was invited to play at festivals such as Festival Ljubljana, Festival Lent in Maribor, „Musique et patrimoine“ and „Jeunes talents“ in Paris,... He recorded an audio CD for Radio and television of Slovenia. He is also laureate of the Yamaha Foundation in France in 2011.

Danijel Brecelj won several prizes at competitions such as „Concours Piano de Mayenne“ in France in 2012 (2nd prize), Concorso „Guido Alberto Fano“ in Italy in 2012 (finalist) and the "National competition of young musicians of Slovenia" in 2004 and 2007 (1st prize).
