A METHOD OF RESEARCH ON THE TRADITIONAL FAMILY HOUSE ADAPTABILITY
Very often our traditional dwelling objects- because of decay, vacancy, substandard condition, and because of an extraordinary historical and cultural value-demand a particular renewal. here is presented an adaptability research in an example of 13 traditional dwelling units of the vernacular aglomeration in Klis (place 8 km from Split, Croatia). The method scheme is: 1) choice of the research model, 2)data-collection, 3)working out the graphical plans and record tables, 4)an analyze of the existing situation, 5)definition of the basic approach and criteria, 6)definition of the three degrees of possible renewals, 7)making of the specification list of needed works, refring to the degree of renewal, 9) projekct solution for the I, II or III renewal degree, 9) calculation of the spending "alfa" in relation to the renewal degree and size of unit, 10) choice of the corresponding flat on the Split flat market that has a price "beta", 13) presumptions about favorable index of adaptability "alfa"/"beta", 12)calculations of the different indexes, comment and conclusion.

In this particular case study regarding some assumpions, it is shown that with a fair prices of spending, a high quality of units can be achived.
