From the 8th
to 13th August 2004, the Schools Museums Internet Learning
Europe (SMILE) seminar was held in Stockholm, Sweden. The
theme of the seminar was National Identity. The organiser
of the seminar was the Museum of Architecture in Stockholm,
which has organised the seminar for the last three years.
The seminar was attended by 48 teachers from Primary and
Secondary schools from 15 European countries. The official
language at the seminar was English. The SMILE seminar was
more than a seminar; it included hands on elements, prepartory
meetings, tourist information and Swedish culinary temptations.

We became familiar
with Sweden's identity, and the identity of the Sweden's
Capital City. We visited the Museum of Architecture, the
National Museum, the Modern Museum, the Skansen Open Air
Museum, and a number of the city's underground train stations.
We also actively participated in a number of workshops.
We concentrated on the connection between museums and schools,
and on work with the internet and videocameras. We summarised
our work and findings on an internet web page.
