DESCRIPTION OF MINDEX
WING is hot wired from styrofoam of high density. On upper and lower surface at max thicknes point there is made an slot for the wingspar cap strips. Wing spar cap strips are ready to use carbon rods layed into slot and epoxied. Between those strips, a wooden dowels are inserted to secure vertical stifness between both caps. Surface of wing is covered in glass fabric and epoxy, but partly the structure is reinforced also with strips and tapes of carbon fabric. This building method is already done on some designs with sucsess. Ailerons and spoilerons are also styrofoam and laminmate skin construction. Both they are connected to wing by means of piano hinges.
TAIL FEATHERS are made equal to wing.
FUSELAGE is made from styrofoam and glas sandwich. Cockpit area is sut from short parts ("U" shaped rings), glued together and sanded to streamlined contour. Tail cone is made as cone tube. After outer skin is done, tail cone is divided in upper and lower halve. Then each halve is glassed inside when laying in styrofoam leftover to assist holding the proper shape. Both halves are then glued togethet and joint is reinforced with fabric tape. Canopy is made from one piece Lexan simply bend in one direction and fixed to canopy frame with screws and epoxy. There is no need for complicated heating and blowing the canopy in the owen...
POWERPLANT is small engine (Radne Raket Aero or similar Carting type) mounted on welded structure from thin walled tubes. Rectracting is done by geared electromotor that drive threaded rod connected to powerpod.br>

It looks that air will became turbulent passing over top of canopy! I believe, that air will be so smart and find itself way left and right rather then direct over the top...

As you can see in this picture, Mindex is equipped with large spoilers for glide path control. They are placed just infront of the flaperons and already in turbulent zone of airfoil. Spoilers are almost 1/2 and flaperons are almost 3/4 of wing span. (look at the 3 view drawing at bottom of this page). Flaperons can act as diferential ailerons and also as high lift device when deflected down, or as "high speed" device if deflected up.
